Are you interested in astronomy
Depending on what you regard to be science, looking at stars might be the oldest science we know – since ages people have been gazing in the starry sky and trying to figure out what is behind it. In newer times great achievements have revolutionized the science and at present we know a lot about space in general. the overwhelming fast achievements in techonology in the last decades and the possibilities of modern personal computers have brought the science into our homes.
There is much knowledge now about the universe and space and it’s objects (for example Black holes).
Imagine – it is much easier to learn about astronomy for everyone. You don’t have to be a top expert scientest to see into the universe. There are a lot of very good software projects and relatively cheap beginners telescopes that enable everyone to deepen the knowledge about our universe (e.g. Stellarium – an open source planetarium. Many of tose resources are very affordable and quite a lot software products are even available for free.
But even if you are not interested in the science behind it, there is so much beauty in some of those pictures. The colorful structures and objects seen on those pictures fascinate almost anyone who is confronted with them for the first time.
