Debt Advice, Tips on Staying out of Debt
Acquiring debt, however big or small, is not as hard as you might think and so it is crucial you keep a close eye on what you are spending and how much you have got. If you find yourself in a position where you feel an overdraft or a credit card is needed to help you get by, have a repayment plan in place. Nothing major, just make you sure you have the capacity to pay it back before incurring huge amounts of interest.
It is extremely easy to neglect your finances, many people go months and months without checking their balances, either through fear or neglect. It is good practice to check your balance on a regular basis and identify all of the out going payments. The easiest way to d this is through online banking and if you haven’t signed up for that yet, make that your next priority. You can log in check everything’s in order and log out in under 5 minutes. You only need to do this once a week (if that) and you will be managing your money much better, it will also give you peace of mind.
If you still find yourself wondering where on earth all your moneys got to at the end of the month I suggest you write a diary. It won’t take you 2 minutes to jot down how much you spent that day and what you bought and at the end of the month you will have a much clearer picture of where you leak money.
