What A Trip: Up And Getting A Classic Mustang
I really haven’t much had any time to write on my web site nearly as often as I had expected, owing to the fact that I’ve been helping my old man with his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. Well, some would argue it’s not as far gone as it might be. You see, what he did was he got all done up like fonzie, and come over to my apartment and proclaim to me, in his hippest tone of voice: “Put some shades on, bro, you and I are going to be vying for some classic Ford Mustangs for sale. You better believe it, brother, I’m finally going to get one of my own.”
Right then and there him and me went out to all of those crazy classic car lots that I’m just about certain are not quite on the up and up, and I can’t believe it when the dude cut a check without even stopping to think, for a very sparkly classic car. I have to admit, it’s an intense piece of machinery. It sounded amazing as well.
There’s a reason why I put about that sound in a past tense. It sounded great until it became silent. My pops says that it is just a quick fix and that all it will take is the right part. Of course, it may not be as easy to locate 1966 Mustang parts as it was over 30 years ago, but Dad insists that there’s a pretty sizable availability for them in spite of their age. As far as my Dad tells me the nicest way to buy parts for 1969 Mustangs is by way of web auctions, because you can find them rebuilt and occasionally even brand new. They’re only sometimes super-cheap, though… After all, these are thirty year old Ford Mustang parts.
I suppose it could’ve been worse. He could’ve gone and found a mail-order bride.
